STUDY & PERFORMANCE

After an early career as a child classical performer, I earned a Master’s in Music from Cambridge University. My thesis was titled Wagnerian Thematic Technique in John Williams’s Star Wars Trilogy. I also won a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and earned the LAMDA Gold Medal for Acting.

I performed and toured worldwide in hundreds of classical concerts, recordings, and operas. I also performed on soundtracks including the Star Wars Prequels and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

PSYCHOANALYSIS

I completed the Introductory and Foundation courses at the British Institute of Psychoanalysis, including a year’s clinical observation at London’s Halliwick Center for Borderline Personality Disorder. I also underwent in-depth personal psychoanalysis over two decades. I have attended short courses, lectures, and workshops at the Philadelphia Association, the London Centre for Psychotherapy, the New Center for Psychoanalysis, California’s New Center for Psychoanalysis, and the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies.

FILM & TV SCORING

I have composed orchestral and electronic scores for more than twenty feature films, along with numerous television series, documentaries, and commercials. I orchestrated, conducted, and produced every score.

03

Speaking

I have been invited to give multiple talks at the AFI Conservatory (Los Angeles), Thinkspace (Global), and Georgetown University (Washington DC). I speak about the nature and purpose of cinema, the psychology of character development in drama, and the use of music in film.

I have created the Filmworld podcast, in which I discuss all these topics in relation to the films I love. Occasionally, a film artist joins me for an in-depth discussion of their creativity and involvement in cinema.

Courses

DRAMATIC FORM

I have developed a course for film creatives on Dramatic Form. It traces the shape of dramatic process through character and story, then examines the moral structure of a filmworld and how character development relates to that value system.

DRAMATIC SCORE

I have created a unique course for filmmakers on the use of music in cinema, called Dramatic Score. The course treats film music as dramatic insight: a score can embody character, reveal or conceal truth, subvert expectation, and think expressively within the world of a film.

05

Systems

My creative work also extends into bespoke web environments and AI-driven systems, digital forms shaped as mindfully as music, writing, and film. I have completed the Google AI Professional Certificate, which has deepened my practical engagement with AI as a powerful daily tool for research, organization, prototyping, and imaginative development.
